In short
- Your numbers are calculated in your browser and aren't saved.
- To get sunlight data, the rounded coordinates of the place you pick are sent to PVGIS (European Commission).
- City search goes from your browser to Open-Meteo's free geocoding service.
01Location
The calculator starts with your approximate city from our hosting provider's headers (the same as our What is my IP tool). If you tap “Use my exact location”, your browser asks for permission first, and the position is used only on this page.
To look up sunlight for a place, our server sends its coordinates rounded to about 1 km to PVGIS, the European Commission's free solar database, and caches the answer; PVGIS doesn't receive your IP address. City search goes from your browser straight to Open-Meteo's geocoding service, which sees the text you type and your IP address like any website you visit. We don't store your location.
02Your numbers
Bills, units, roof size and prices you enter stay in your browser and are gone when you close the page.
03Help form
If you use the “Need help?” form, we receive the details you enter (name, email, optional phone, topic and message) and use them only to reply, as described in our Privacy Policy.
