Screen resolution checker FAQ
By using this tool you agree to its Terms of Use and privacy notice.
Screen resolution is the size of your whole display. The viewport is the visible area of the browser window, which is smaller because of the browser's toolbars and depends on the window size. Websites lay out pages using the viewport.
Websites see CSS pixels. If your display uses scaling (like 150% on Windows or Retina on Mac), one CSS pixel covers several physical pixels. The physical resolution shown above is the real pixel count.
How many physical pixels make up one CSS pixel. 1 on a standard monitor, 2 on Retina screens and most laptops with scaling, 3 on many phones. It also changes when you zoom the browser.
Start at 360 px wide for phones, then check 768 px (tablets), 1024–1280 px (laptops) and 1440 px or wider (desktops).
No. Everything is read by your browser and shown on this page only.
